The Lion Hotel - Belper

The rooms were spacious, and a hot shower after exploring the Pickford's House was just what we needed. The breakfast was good, and the staff were generally nice.

My children wanted better sound insulation from the road.

The room was cool and spotless, offered a work desk, a multi-channel television and ironing facilities. The bed was very comfy, I slept well.

Very central location was a plus.

The public rooms were fine but the bedrooms need a little bit of attention and updating.I would not pay the full price to stay there but we only wanted an overnight stay so was a good price for us.

We arrived late on Christmas Day and were well received and everything handled with care and courtesy.

Great atmosphere with helpful staff and tasty pizzas in the on-site restaurant. Rooms vary in comfort; Some are a bit dated but clean. Not too quiet due to nearby events, but if you're looking for convenience...

Great location and comfy stay

We stayed for a night and loved the location! The room was super clean, and the big bed made for a cozy sleep. Staff were friendly and super helpful. We had breakfast, delish, but the shower wasn't the best, kinda weak. Still, this place is worth it!

Comfortable rooms (although too warm perhaps !) and friendly,helpful staff. Catering and service very good in the restaurant too.

The bedrooms were clean , but careworn. Your saving grace are your staff. They are professional and attentive Thank you so much to all who helped / served us

The communal areas are filthy, Stayed Sunday / Monday - saw no cleaning and in fact It's clear that they are never cleaned. Filthy skirting boards, stair rails , carpets The cooked breakfast was overcooked, We were down towards the end of service, but as it was cooked to order I can't understand why . Also found it strange to eat my breakfast in the bar area - Wonderful location but could make more of it
